"Some people make things happen, some watch things happen, while others wonder what has happened "

I like to do alot of things while I am young... thus I need to spend time more efficiently/wisely... so that I will have no regrets.

I guess Angel is right, have to be content with what you have now.

Memory lane at neighbourhood park

Catched another movie today with Angel. We watched "The Devil Wears Prada"...really good movie. We arranged to meet at the cinema and we were both late. It was pitch dark in the cinema that we cant really see anything unless the movie screen had images. Luckily we only missed the trailers and as we sat down the movie started.

Thereafter we had dinner which wasnt fantasic and went to the nearby park. On our walk there, we passed by an elderly man walking his 4 golden retrievers. Angel was thrilled and walked towards them and asked the elderly man if she could pat his dogs. The man was gracious and very happy to let us interact with his dogs. They shared information about each other's dogs knowledges/ages.

It was nice at the park, because there were not much people at that time and hence we were able to let ourselves to play at the swing, see-saw and monkey bar etc...
Then, we went further into the park to check out where is the spa mentioned on TV and newspaper. Along the path, we found a dog run area and Angel was once again thrilled with seeing the puppies. We eventually found the spa and the nearby cafes. This is definity a place to chill out! I will go again.

Healthy Self-Esteem - Weekly Article

Healthy Self-Esteem is your best weapon on the journey of life. Self-Esteem is the cornerstone of your emotional well-being and success in life. Self-Esteem stems from the knowledge that you are a valuable person. It is the understanding that there is on one who is exactly like you. No one talks like you; No one walks like you; No one has the exact color eyes or hair as you. Even identical twins have subtle differences in personality and characteristics.

You can build Healthy Self-Esteem one minute at a time. Every waking minute:

See yourself as having value.

See yourself as having the key to what is needed in this world.

Treat yourself with the highest respect. No one will treat you with more respect than you treat yourself.

Employ self-discipline to follow through with any endeavor.

Give yourself positive support by praising yourself for doing a good job, for doing what you do, and for doing things the best you can. “You can do it.” “You are good at everything you do.” “You did a good job.”

Focus on the positive—avoid focusing on the negative.

Focus on the glass is half full—avoid focusing on the glass is half empty.

Give yourself praise and pats on the back for your achievements—no matter how small.

Focus on the process of goal achievement, avoid bemoaning everything you need to do—your goals come to fruition more quickly.

Be persistent in everything you do—persistence is the only path to goal achievement.

Praise others for their accomplishments—when you compliment others you build your own self-esteem, because it’s impossible to sincerely praise others without feeling better about yourself.

Give as much as you want to receive—What goes around comes around.

Take pride in, who you are. Take pride in, what you do.

"Life is not easy for any of us. We must have perseverance and above all, self-esteem in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.” – Marie Curie

In Thirty days you will notice subtle, but powerful differences in the out-come of your endeavors and you will notice you are feeling empowered, confident and focused on goals and achievements.

Tips for dating on budget

Well here's an interesting American edition for budget dating
Guess it still useful with some creative thinking over here.

To Be Human
Putting People On Pedestals
When we fall in love with someone or make a new friend, we sometimes see that person in a glowing light. Their good qualities dominate the foreground of our perception and their negative qualities. They just don't seem to have any. This temporary state of grace is commonly known as putting someone on a pedestal. Often times we put spiritual leaders and our gurus on pedestals. We have all done this to someone at one time or another, and as long as we remember that no one is actually "perfect," the pedestal phase of a relationship can be enjoyed for what it is-a phase. It's when we actually believe our own projection that troubles arise.

Everyone has problems, flaws, and blind spots, just as we do. When we entertain the illusion that someone is perfect, we don't allow them room to be human, so when they make an error in judgment or act in contradiction to our idea of perfection, we become disillusioned. We may get angry or distance ourselves in response. In the end, they are not to blame for the fact that we idealized them. Granted, they may have enjoyed seeing themselves as perfect through our eyes, but we are the ones who chose to believe an illusion. If you go through this process enough times, you learn that no one is perfect. We are all a combination of divine and human qualities and we all struggle. When we treat the people we love with this awareness, we actually allow for a much greater intimacy than when we held them aloft on an airy throne. The moment you see through your idealized projection is the moment you begin to see your loved one as he or she truly is.

We cannot truly connect with a person when we idealize them. In life, there are no pedestals-we are all walking on the same ground together. When we realize this, we can own our own divinity and our humanity. This is the key to balance and wholeness within ourselves and our relationships.

"Courage is the mastery of fear-not the absence of fear." - Mark Twain

anxious, worry

Yes swam by feelings of sadness... regarding my career.
As much as I try to think positive, I am also wondering have I become 'soft' ...
sleepless for 2 nights... Hopefully I can sleep well tonight.

*Never cease to pray*... I admit I lacked disclipine to pray, sometime even the faith to pray too.

Today, someone smiled at me at the canteen. I didnt know who she was, as I was introduced to a stream of new faces yesterday, I smiled back just in case and not to offend anyone.

Later, she walked pass my partition and asked if we know each other, because she found me very familiar. I was suprised as I do not find her familiar at all. She asked if I was from A.I or NYJC... My eyes widen and I replied that yes I was from A.I. Whats your name... ?

When she mentioned her name, it rang a bell... I tried her to recollect how she looked back then...wow its been more than 10 years already. She was a schoolmate whom we are not close at all during those days.

She looked different... I couldnt recognize her at all. Noticed she had wedding ring on already. Glad for her.

I really hope she wont remember much about me. I admit I wasnt the popular person back then. It was a friendly and short conversation of finding out who each other is. It suddenly hit me that where are all my sec friends now... I have lost touch with alot of them... Guess this also contribute to a sudden swing of sadness too.

yah i am feeling weird... and still reminding myself to be positive.

Fuji Ice palace

I was not working today and Angel took time off to have some fun time together at Fuji Ice Palace.

I cant ice skate at all while Angel knows abit more than me, so she spend her time mostly to guide me and guided me by holding my hands. It was rather fun especially when the weather is so hot. It was fun as I sang along to the oldies that was being played at the skating ring, to Angel. She smiled and I guess that makes her happy too :)

Thereafter I accompanied Angel shopping for a nice top for the formal dinner tonight.

I guess we may go back to Fuji Ice palace again, let see how.

"Praying without ceasing is not ritualized, nor are there even words. It is a constant state of awareness of oneness with God." - Peace Pilgrim

Feeling anxious again during the day in the office. I tried to stay composed and recall the sense of peace that I felt when I was at the worship nite a few friday ago. I must focus on what i want and how to prepare myself for what I want to achieve, do and enjoy.

On the other note, I have been alittle hooked on setting webpages in blogspot. Haha kinda like it too, because I get to view some very interesting blogs all over the whole.

Party?

Angel is very excited and keen to go to the Nation Party in Phuket, I on the other hand, am not that keen at all. In fact I still think the whole thing is such a ripped off.

Sure its good to have fun. However, after being at the first Nation Party in Sentosa in 2000. I really doubt it would be that fun for all gals event.

No offence but come on, gals are really no fun compared to gays men. In general they have better physic, better dancer, dress better (cos no need to dress also can)...

I dont know, gals are always more clickish kind of human. Ie they click to familiar faces/places etc...

I rather have a quiet relaxed beach resort holiday somewhere else than Phuket.

Mini Lava Glitters Lamp

Angel's sister was recently in KL for business and bought a mini lava glitter lamps for me. How nice. It has 3 colors purple, green and blue that alternates when shaken.
Its pretty cool in a dark room and a cool addition to my desk in my room.

its blogspot from now on

I had been posting at another domain "onlinediary.net". Its relatively easy to use, easy to post and has neat template. Alas, their server has problems... always down or unable to login.

Thus I have decided to switch to Blogger.com eventhough I dont like the posting feature here.

Anyway my old blog was at http://knowme.onlinediary.net ( if the host is working again but chances are slim )
